Top Tips for Caring for Your New French Bulldog Puppies in California

by | Sep 19, 2018 | Pets

French bulldog puppies in California are playful, adorable and make good pets. However, just like anything else, owning a puppy comes with it’s own set of responsibilities. Just as you care for your children by taking them to the doctor, you need to care for your bulldog by taking him to the vet and so forth. With that in mind, read on for a few of the top tips to help you care for your new French bulldog puppy.

Training Your Bulldog

One of the first things you should teach any French bulldog puppies in California you own is to use the bathroom outdoors. While they are small enough to be perfect for apartment life, it still takes some training. Start training your puppy as soon as they are old enough to eliminate outside. Once they start doing their business where they should, make sure to reward them so they do it again and don’t do their business in your home instead.

Make Sure to Exercise

While French bulldogs are low exercise dogs, it is still important they get enough exercise every day. Walking your pup at least 20 minutes a day will help keep that weight in check. Getting out and playing with your pup is also a great way for them to get exercise and will give you the exercise you need as well.

Take Care of Their Eyes

French bulldogs are known to have eye issues so it’s extremely important to keep up with their vet appointments and cleaning the folds under their eyes. Look for any signs your pup has eye issues and get him checked out as soon as possible if you spot any.
